FIT Student and PrimaLoft Jacket Win Project OR
At the recent Outdoor Retailer Show in Salt Lake City, Utah, five aspiring designers from top fashion and design schools in the US were selected to participate in Project OR, the Outdoor Retailer version of "Project Runway" TV show.
The five contestants had 48 hours to design and make an apparel prototype. On the first day of the show, they gathered fabrics, fasteners and other materials from the exhibiting suppliers. PrimaLoft participated in the project by donating some insulation.
Ryanniel Ocampo, a senior student at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), in New York, won the Project OR contest with his "OCD Jacket" using PrimaLoft insulation. "My initial design was to make a light weight quilted jacket. I've heard of PrimaLoft before and I thought it would be perfect," said Ryanniel. "PrimaLoft has great qualities; it is very soft and breathable and keeps you warm."
Congratulations to Ryanniel!
