The New York Times Featured Ski Socks Made with PrimaLoft Yarn

Ski socks made with PrimaLoft® Yarn by Fox River Mills and Lorpen received rave reviews in the New York Times Gear Test column, which appeared in the Style section last Thursday (2/18/10).

Mark Woolley, a certified ski instructor at Sugarbush Resort in Vermont, conducted the test for the New York Times to inform readers on what to look for when selecting ski socks.

Woolley tested the Fox River Rocky made with PrimaLoft Merino Wool Blend Yarn and Lorpen Tri-Layer Light socks made with PrimaLoft Eco Blend Yarn.  He also tested ski socks from Thorlo, Smartwool and Wigwam.  Woolley wore each pair of socks for two days, washing them between wearings.

PrimaLoft Highlights at Outdoor Retailer Winter Market 2010

PrimaLoft exhibited at Outdoor Retailer Winter Market 2010 show – January 21-24 – in Salt Lake City, UT.  At the show, the PrimaLoft team was busy presenting retailers, manufacturers and media with the latest PrimaLoft insulations and yarns.

Here are some highlights…

PrimaLoft booth:
From staple fiber insulations to yarns to continuous filament insulation, PrimaLoft has a product to keep outdoor enthusiasts warm and dry from "head to toe".  Mannequins and samples were displayed in the booth to show that PrimaLoft has you covered!

PrimaLoft “Knock Your Socks Off!” competition:

PrimaLoft Yarn – our innovative performance yarn that is warmer, drier, softer and more comfortable than standard yarns - was the highlight of our Knock Your Socks Off! competition.  The competition was held in the booth on the first afternoon of the show.  Show attendees were asked to roll up some socks made with PrimaLoft Yarn and throw them to knock down foot forms wearing traditional socks…  Everyone enjoyed the beer and winners received socks made with PrimaLoft Yarn.

PrimaLoft and Project OR:
PrimaLoft participated in Project OR – season 4 – by donating PrimaLoft insulation to the contestants challenged to design a garment in 3 days by using materials provided by OR exhibitors.

PrimaLoft and Speed Dating with Designers:

Our own sales and marketing director, Eileen Berner, volunteered to a one-hour speed dating session where she met with 25 designers.  She had 2 minutes with each designer to talk about PrimaLoft – the warmest, driest, softest and most compressible insulation!
